crummy night

At least it was clear last night, or I should say clear-ish. Transparency hurt by high thin clouds, and seeing was quite poor. I used the 8-inch mask throughout, and had generally better views at lower than my usual powers. I wanted to observe in Lynx since it was in the darkest part of my sky and high up, but because it's past meridian and such a thin, elongated constellation, most of the slewing is side-to-side rather than up-down when I'm pointed at meridian. So I moved back to Leo, but since I've been through there on some previous nights I didn't find much on the lists which would be within reach under the poor conditions.

Unfortunately the weather pattern is to be the same in the coming days (high cloud, poor seeing), but will try to get out when I can.
