It was a pretty frustrating night. Seeing was forecast to be good. I optimistically started with some close pairs from Burnham at full 20-inch aperture, but it really wasn't good enough, so I masked to 8-inches. I tried to observe only the reasonably close pairs which have a chance of being binary. I was a bit random and observed all over the sky. It got kind of cold so the temperature change from the hot day might explain the poorer seeing. The marine layer was threatening on the western horizon, and finally came through at 11:30pm, when I closed up.
BU 1430 AB: 508; 140x: Very pretty, light orange A, with two 2 Dm fainter stars nearby, one close and one twice as far, forming a pointed triangle. AB is -80% PRO, not binary. The far companion is STF 1498 AC, which has 8% PRO but the RVD 3.9 far exceeds the EV 0.9, it is not binary.
